BSkyB has released an app enabling Sky customers to watch TV through their PS4. TV From Sky is a free app available on the PlayStation Store, but it requires customers to have both a Sky iD and a Sky Go Extra subscription.
The app lets Sky customers stream live and on-demand TV on their console. However, it doesn't let users download TV shows, movies and box sets for offline viewing, a feature that's available to Sky Go Extra customers on mobiles, tablets and laptops. A Sky Go Extra subscription costs £5 per month on top of your regular Sky bill, or is free if you have Sky Multiscreen.
Xbox 360 owners who used the Sky Go app were told in July that the service was no longer free to all Sky customers and would require a Sky Go Extra subscription, much like the PS4 app does. Sky also offers another streaming video service, Now TV, on PS4, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PS3. Designed for non-Sky subscribers, Now TV offers on-demand, limited time access to some of Sky's most popular content including films and sport.
